Questions
How are the boys transitioned into the troop?
When your son joins the Troop, the Scoutmaster will assign him to an existing patrol. The older and more experienced Scouts within the patrol will help him get oriented within the Troop 707 organization and will serve as mentors to him. If your son has a special friend who is joining the Troop at the same time and the boys want to be in the same patrol, please have the boys inform the Scoutmaster who will consider this request.
What equipment does Troop 707 own?
Tents, stoves, lanterns, cooking supplies to name a few. When a Scout goes camping all they need to bring is a sleeping bag, pad, mess kit, 10 essentials, clothing, personal needs and a flashlight. The Troop will supply the rest!
What fees will be required by Troop 707?
Troop 707 charges an annual renewal fee of $50 in addition to the required BSA required fees (currently $21.80 per year). At the time of crossover, there is a $1 BSA transfer fee in addition to the $50 annual fee. Each family must have at least one adult registered with the troop. The fees for a newly registered adult are approximately $11 per year.
What are the fees for the monthly activities?
Troop 707 does not charge monthly dues. But there is a charge for each outing. The charge covers lodging, food, and transportation as specified. Your scout can offset some or all of these expenses with our various fundraising projects.
